How do you serve baijiu?

February 10, 2015 | Posted in News | No Comments

TEMPERATURE: Tradition dictates that baijiu be served at room temperature or even warm. This is contradistinction to the Western tradition of serving alcohol chilled. In other words, in Western tradition, serving alcohol at room temperature would typically be considered bad form; however, baijiu is in fact meant to be served at room temperature.

DISHWARE: Baijiu should be served from a small ceramic bottle. It should be poured into small cups or glasses — not shot glasses but specialized cups. You can see these small glasses in the photo above.

TOASTING: Clinking the glasses together and toasting is absolutely part of the serving process and an excellent way to end it before enjoying the baijiu.
